Screen painting has been a unique Baltimore City tradition ever since grocer William Oktavec painted  the first Baltimore painted screen  in 1913. Those who remember the thousands of painted screens of days gone by still love and cherish them today. Those who view painted window screens for the first time are amazed by their timeless magical simplicity.

Even if you don't typically go to art exhibits, this is one summer event you won't want to miss. This is all about our hometown art heritage, hon; where it's been and where it's going.

SkyLofts Gallery is one of Baltimore’s rare locations where you can view an exceptional collection of contemporary Baltimore screen paintings and find the right one to add to your art collection.

An informal Artist Reception will be held on Saturday,  August 29th,  12 noon to 3PM.
